🛠️ Common Issues & Solutions

Unable to Activate Module (Missing Dependencies)

If you are unable to activate the module, you likely do not meet one of the following conditions:

  1. Foundry VTT Version: Your version is too low. The verified version is v13, and the absolute minimum is v11.
  2. Missing Modules: You have not downloaded all the required dependency modules.
  3. System Incompatibility: You are using a system other than dnd5e.

Fix: If your system and version are correct, delete and reinstall the module, ensuring you click "Download All" for dependencies.

Map Display Problem (Corrupted Files)

If your map looks broken or visually glitched, your files are likely corrupted. Data leaks can sometimes occur when downloading large modules from the Foundry server.

Solution:
4. Check that you have enough free space on your hard drive.
5. Delete the module entirely and download it again.
6. Ensure your world is set to the dnd5e system and start the world. If the error persists, repeat steps 1 and 2.

Error Notification: Module "Item Piles"

At this time, the Item Piles module has not been officially updated for Foundry VTT Version 13. You may see a warning window, but this should not affect the operation of our maps.

How to hide this notification:
7. Return to the main Foundry menu and open the Add-on Modules tab.
8. Right-click on our module and select Edit Module.
9. Find the Relationships section and remove the Item Piles module from the list.
10. Start your world, go to the Module Manager, and manually deactivate Item Piles.

🏰 Managing Floors: Module "Levels"

We use the Levels module to control vertical movement across different floors of a building or dungeon.

How to Move Between Floors

  1. Open the map.
  2. Locate the tool icons on the left side of the screen and click the icon that looks like "slices" (the Levels UI).
  3. A control window will appear (refer to your reference picture).
  4. Select a Player Token (Note: NPC displays work differently) and place it on the first floor near the building entrance.
  5. Move the token towards the stairs and attempt to climb them. The token will automatically transition to the upper (or lower) floor.
  6. After the transition, a + or - value will appear next to the token, indicating its current elevation. This matches the elevation value in the Levels control window.
  7. To manually view or switch between floors as the GM, use the Levels control window.

Maps Don't Show Correctly (Levels Issue)

If the floors are overlapping or the map isn't displaying the correct elevation (as seen in the reference picture), the Levels module is not functioning correctly.

Causes & Solutions:
8. Not Activated: Go to your Module Manager and ensure Levels is enabled.
9. Not Downloaded: Download the module manually, or delete and reinstall our module. When reinstalling, pay close attention to the dependency pop-up and be sure to click "Download All".
